Mobility · FRAME / FLOOR
That muscle may not be tight. Your body may not trust you there.
Most people attack tightness like the muscle committed a crime. Pull it. Mash it. Hang on it. Then wonder why the same restriction comes back tomorrow.

PowerChain asks a different question: what is the body protecting? Your ankle may be guarding an old injury. Your shoulder may have range but no control. Your hip may be doing extra work because another link stopped showing up.
Movement comes back when the system trusts the position, not when you win a tug-of-war against it. That usually means comfortable exposure, control, breathing, and eventually strength inside the range.
Your nervous system owns the parking brake
Muscles do not make movement decisions by themselves. Your nervous system is constantly judging whether a position feels controlled and safe enough. If the answer is no, tension can be protection, not simply short tissue.
What this means in real life
You can pull on a body part every morning and still move like the Tin Man by lunch. Range is not the same as control. Your body may keep the brakes on because it does not trust what happens when you get there.
Stop chasing loose. Build a position your body can trust.
How long have you been stretching the same spot without asking why it keeps coming back?
Pay attention before you try to fix it.
- Choose one comfortable joint movement, such as turning your head or raising an arm.
- Move slowly through a pain-free range for five controlled repetitions.
- On the final repetition, pause for two relaxed breaths without forcing farther.
Notice: Notice whether the motion becomes smoother, not merely larger.
Make it easier or know when to stop +
Easier: Make the range smaller and perform it seated.
Stop if: Stop for sharp pain, numbness, dizziness, sudden weakness, or symptoms traveling down an arm or leg.
Stop chasing loose. Build a position your body can trust.
